We're working on an album cover for John Evans' new record "Polyester". I came up with the idea for the cover on a late nite drive from Memphis to Houston. This is the first proof of the stitching. Alicat is getting pretty good at digitization. Click through to see what she had to start with...

Projector Mapped Pyramid
- Thursday, 16 February 2012 00:00
We've taken to calling this the pyramid. It started off as the 'QBert Board' but as we actually have a pyramid in Memphis, I suppose it is always on the brain.
Projector Mapped Robot
- Saturday, 11 February 2012 00:00
Our friend Ninjacat invited us to participate in the Seventh Annual Music Video Showcase here in Memphis. The event is exactly what it sounds like and we were charged with creating an environment for the event. This is the one of the sculptures we made for the event. Ninjacat made the video. WTF
- Saturday, 14 January 2012 00:00
My friends at LiveFromMemphis.com gave me this awesome award. Not really sure what it's for as I was DJing the party while they made the announcment. I had my headphones on cueing up the next song and noticed the dude with the mic standing next to me was looking at me. Then I noticed that everyone in the room was looking at me. I may not know why I got it, but it looks pretty fly hanging on the studio wall. Thanks yall.
LECTRONIX
- Monday, 26 December 2011 00:00
Over holiday time while nobody is at their jobs orderin stuff from us we got to play with some new stuff. Our friends brought over an arduino to explore. With the stuff we had laying around we tried a 4x4x4 LED cube. My soldering skills having waned since 2007 are evident in the model below, but I did better with the 7x7x7 LED cube.
Superglue and Toothpicks - Movie Magic
- Sunday, 13 November 2011 00:00
It sure is fun to be back on set. It's lots of fun doing the vendor work for far away productions, but there is no comparison between working at the studio and the fun problem solving that is done by the minute with a limited tool box. Here we are, working on a local low budget produciton and we find ourselves with a need for a podium for a Memphis Police press conference. What's a po'folk to do? The answer lately seems to be coroplast. The awesome, light weight, easy to cut, and relatively cheap substrate has unparalleled usefulness in the art of movie magic.
Going Nowhere
- Tuesday, 25 October 2011 00:00
A local studio called up to see if we could make them an elevator. Not one that actually goes anywhere, but one in which they could shoot the six-guys-go-into-and-elevator-and-only-one-guy-comes-out scene. Some sort of Christian Martial Arts thing. Im not real into the Martial Arts thing and I'm pretty far from what anyone would consider religious, but the job sounded like a good challenge and that is one thing that I am always about.
The First Order of License Plates
- Thursday, 08 September 2011 00:00
The vacuuform machine has gotten it's first order...The TV pilot that hired us for the cop car vinyl skins asked us to produce some of our fancy custom embossed plastic license plates.
Off Set TV Work
- Wednesday, 31 August 2011 00:00
There hasn't been much in the way of on set movie and tv work coming our way, but the vendor work has been keeping us pretty busy. The FX Network is shooting a pilot in and around Nashville and we've been doing lotsa vinyl cutting, embroidery and screen printing for the art and costume departments.
The Barter System
- Sunday, 28 August 2011 00:00
A friend of ours has bought a building. The kind of building that people like us lust after. Located in downtown Memphis, it is a former print shop that went up for tax auction. The professional prospector that showed up at the auction with cash in hand bought this amazing building for just over a dollar a square foot. He was then able to sell it to our friend for two and half songs and now it's in the family.
GONERFEST 8!
- Saturday, 27 August 2011 00:00
Goner Records here in Memphis puts on an amazing music festival that takes over all the rock and roll venues in town for a long weekend every year. They have added us to the roster of local artists that they support by having us screenprint 250 of their awesome posters designed by different artists each year.
Gig Posters and Rock Show
- Saturday, 20 August 2011 20:00
So you've made an awesome showprint for a band you love, hung them up all over town to get fools out to the show, and placed copies in the hands of the bands and the club owner, now what? How do you get rid of the rest of them in exchange for cash money?
Vacuform Machine
- Sunday, 31 July 2011 00:00
I tried my best to remember the in process shots as I built a vacuform machine last week. I was less successful at documenting the process that I was at making the device. Here are some of those pictures and a play by play of the build.
